Nordost Moonglow Silver Shadow Coaxial interconnect (1 metre) ****

Yep, you reacted right: three hundred and thirty-five pounds for one metre of coaxial cable. It’d better be good! As it happens, the Moonglow Silver Shadow is the best digital cable here by far. The power pop of Janet Jackson comes through with tone-crushing power, each transient being reproduced with surgeon-like precision and pile-driver force. The intricate jazz of the Quincy Jones set is delivered with similarly stunning results; instruments sound natural and the level of detail, particularly the hash-free focus on offer, is nothing short of addictive. Being a Nordost cable the MSS is packed full of hi-tech material  but in essence it uses a high-purity silver coated OFC conductor in a co-axial design. And as you’d expect at this price, the connectors are top quality. There’s no denying that the MSS produces a fabulous sound, but as for that price – gulp!
